Track List for “Wicked Smart”

June 17th, 2007 | News, Wicked Smart

We finally finished the last song for the album, which ended up being “Obstacles & Bends”. We also decided to add “Massachusetts” to the album because we both like the song so much. I can’t wait for you guys to actually hear the entire album. I’m really excited about getting it out to the world, even more excited then when Jimmy Carter knew he won the 1980 Presidential election. We are currently looking into booking some shows and testing the new songs out live so stay tuned for any updates. Make sure to sign up for our mailing list right here.

We’re Back!

June 13th, 2007 | News

We’re back and we’re almost finished with our new album “Wicked Smart”. We’ve recorded 9 songs and we only have one more song to record. After that the album just needs to be mixed. The album will be released at the end of this summer as a 10 song album. We’re really excited about this album. I know most bands say that their new album is the best stuff they’ve ever written, but we really feel like this is our strongest best album we’ve ever written.

As most of you know Erica and I started The Predicates in 2002, recorded 2 albums and then moved to San Diego, CA. The music got kind of stale for me and Erica after our drummer Dave Tuetken left the band. Things were really not fun, we weren’t writing any new music, we were fighting and we needed a break. We decided to end The Predicates and go our separate ways.  We both decided to make solo albums.  I started to write my solo album and even had Erica sing harmony on some of them, but it just didn’t feel right.  Also at the time I was doing my solo album Erica was writing and recording her own album and continues to do on the side.  Well one day a few months ago after practically begging Erica for a year to get The Predicates back together I came up with this one song “Last Left Off” and asked her to sing on it.  She really liked it and the chemistry and enthusiasm that we had back in 2002 had finally come back and we decided to write an entire album.

That brings us to today and like I said before we’re almost done with our new album, ready to play shows, do photo shoots, make music videos and everything else that goes along with being in a band.  We’re super excited for what the future brings and the new people we will infect with our brand of indie pop rock.  Thanks for sticking with us and we promise the future we’ll be more fun than a Jurassic Park sequel!

Gregg
